I bless the rains down in Africa...

...but rue the ones in SF this week. Alas, construction has stopped. We have this fine plastic sheet over the hole in the wall:



And this fine window & flooring in the basement:


All that's happened this week is that I finished anchoring the tall bookcases to the walls. Riveting material for a blog, I know.

The forecast says rain through Monday. Keep your fingers crossed for us -- we are hoping to at least have the window in by next Friday, before a certain someone arrives:
